Training

Julie MarieJulie worked early on in her show career with trainers Rick and Heidi Cecil. The Cecil's helped finish out horses and assisted in sales. After the Cecil's moved to Florida, Susan Stocker of Port Washington, OH became Julies mentor and coach. Susan and Julie work closely together today to achieve success in training and selling horses. The team works hard to match horses to the perfect home and they are proud that each horse ever sold is matched perfectly to its new owner. In 2012 Julie rode with Hank Clauson and learned much from this great trainer.

After riding with Hank for a year and consulting with Hank and Susan, Julie decided to give up her amateur card and turn pro. The new era in Julies life started in September of 2013 and she went quickly on to prove herself in the show arena.  At her very first shows, she was in the points in the Open and went on to the 2013 All American Quarter Horse Congress to win top 10 honors and was a finalist amongst very tough competition.

Julie was goal orientated from the very beginning of her show career and was a top competitor in 4-H and AQHA. She finished her 4-H show career by achieving her ultimate goal to be a Ohio State Champion. Moving on to bigger goals, Julie went on to AQHA Congress to make the finals on her beautiful Artful Move gelding in Amateur Hunter Under Saddle. She tied for first in Novice Amateur Equitation and ended up Reserve in the tie breaker. Julie has numerous other Circuit awards to her credit as well as a finalist multiple times at the All American Quarter Horse Congress and a Congress Masters Entry.

Many years of showing at top shows through the country and an passion for her job,  Julie Marie Show Horses opened in 2013. Please contact us about training options with us.
